Weekly SKINS game
Each Monday evening at 7:00 THGC hosts a skins game. Players pay a $12.00 green fee and cart fee. An additional fee of $16.00 goes toward the CASH PAYOUT! Skins game: pits players in a type of match play in which each individual hole has a set value (usually in points or money). The player who wins the hole is said to win the “skin,” and whatever that skin is worth. Skins games are often more dramatic than standard match play because holes are not halved. When players tie on a given hole, the value of that hole is carried over and added to the value of the following hole. The more ties, the greater the value of the skin and the bigger the eventual payoff.
Weekly Beginner/Intermediate Golf Clinic
This is a group class that meets at 7:00pm each Thursday providing an introduction to the game for beginners in a leisurely environment. However, intermediate and advanced players looking for a tune-up are always welcome. Only $20.00 includes range balls and instruction by a highly qualified PGA Professional.
Adaptive Golf Clinic
The Tampa adaptive golf clinic is hosted at Terrace Hill Golf Center. We have met almost every Friday for 7 ½ years. Directed by PGA Professional, Ken Juhn, the program provides an opportunity for American veterans and community members with disabilities to find ways to continue playing golf. This end is accomplished through the use of adaptive methods and equipment. We work as a community partner with the James A. Haley VA Hospital and AVAST (Amputee VA Support Team). In many cases golf becomes an integral tool used in recovery from multiple types of injuries.
1st Tee Clinic
Terrace Hill GC is a host site for multiple First Tee junior golf programs including Saturday morning classes and a Saturday afternoon program called Team Golf. Players graduate from the morning classes to Team Golf (involves more course play) once they demonstrate a level of accomplishment in various skills.
1st Tee Summer Camp
Terrace Hill has also been a host site of weekly “First Tee” Summer Golf camps for years. These camps are scheduled for 11 weeks, Monday-Friday, during the summer months providing extensive exposure to an educational environment. Children have fun developing golf skills that are integrated with life skills. For more information or to sign up for First Tee programs go to thefirstteetampabay.org
Florida College Golf Classes
Florida College golf classes are available as a credit class for Florida College students. Classes meet twice per week (Tuesday, Thursday) at either 9:15am or 1:00pm. Florida College golf classes are designed to give students an above average understanding of the game of golf. This includes knowledge of basic muscular movements such as the pivot, arm-swing and timing between the two. Enrollees learn basics of many aspects of the game including putting, chipping, sand play, basic rules and some on course play.
